Proposed Lakemoor Gardens 2
Developer Rick Swanson of Blithfield
Development in Lake Forest requested an amendment to the village’s
Comprehensive Plan. The amendment is to change the zoning from residential
to apartment/townhouse on 36 acres just east of the Outdoor Theatre at
Lincoln and Chapel Hill roads. The plans are for a congregate-care housing
development for assisted care and rehabilitation (not substance rehab).
Phases I and II, which would be built first, each would have 112 units. A
third phase, with another 112 units and a fourth phase with 60 units,
might be added later. There’s a 20,000 square foot center with health
center, dining room and vocational training center.
The proposed buildings are all two-story; and the access road would be
directly across from Margaret Court.
